Sleep. Something I definitely do not get enough of. As much as I love sleep, I can't bring myself to go to bed at a decent hour at night to catch up on it. After children go to bed and the house is finally quiet, I treasure that time. I feel like it's the first time all day I can think straight and do something without interruption. Usually it's the first chance I get to sit down and relax. I do all sorts of things: I read, I surf the internet, I clear off the kitchen island, I catch up on the DVR, I clean, I blog, I do laundry, I pick up the family room, I have something to eat, I look at the mail, etc.
The other night during this golden time, I took pictures. This week's theme is sleep. The lighting in my house is pretty bad anyway, so I knew taking pictures at night would be a challenge because let's face it - not much sleeping going on during the daytime.
My subjects were very cooperative. No matter how crazy they may make me during the day, I look at their angelic faces when they're sleeping and all is forgiven.

Sweet angels. Isn't that time when everyone in the house is asleep just wonderful? I end up staying up far too late, but I need that time to regroup.
I love that you included the dog in the photos. :)
love that you included the dog and that mason has a book on his chest!
Awwww!!!! What sweet pictures!! I love them! And I really love the dog picture! That's cute!
I hear you about using the time when they're sleeping as your time. I'm not a night owl at all so I get up at 5:30 so I get an hour or two to myself in the morning.
Those photos are all so sweet but I especially love the first one - it's just so creamy looking.
aren't they just perfect when they are sleeping?!
having four is crazy. i find the volume just gets so loud that by the time they are all tucked safely in their beds the quiet is such a lovely treat :)
your kids are adorable!
Oh gosh, I'm going along looking at darling sleeping children and Bang! a sleeping doggy. Sweet!! Another chuckle, I've had several this afternoon and they've been great.
Aww, so precious. Love the black and white--it makes it timeless. We have a cocker spaniel too. Yours is adorable! ours is a red one..she's a diva. ha :)
These are so great H. And you will have them forever to remind yourself of what they looked like to be little and sleeping! A gift indeed.
