Birthday Boys

Andrew and Zach's birthdays are a mere 48 hours apart.  As much as I wanted to have Zachary on Andrew's birthday, it didn't happen.  It still worked out though - instead of sharing a birthday with his dad, he shares one with his cousin Harrison.

This year, both of them had a very basketball themed birthday.  It was completely unintentional, but funny how it turned out that way.

The celebration kicked off a little early with a father/son trip to SLC the weekend before.  Their main gift this year was a trip to Salt Lake to attend a Jazz vs. Kings game to see Jimmer play of course.  A friend of Andrew's gave him the tickets and we used Marriott points for the hotel room, so really the only cost was food and gas. It was a very quick trip - they drove up Saturday morning and were home by Sunday at 2pm, but they had a lot of fun.  Andrew was even nice enough to text me pictures of the two of them eating at Rumbi before the game.  Stinkers!!!!

The following Tuesday was Andrew's birthday.  He turned 37.  One year closer to 40!! I gave him his other present - tickets to the West Coast Conference championships here in March.  He was thrilled (at least I think he was.)  After much deliberation, Andrew decided at the last minute that he wanted to go to Geisha House for his birthday dinner.  We were happy to oblige.

Thursday was Zach's turn.  We had to quickly celebrate Zach's birthday before school since that night half the family would be gone (temple baptisms and basketball practice.)  More basketball gifts:  a new basketball, a Wii game, a Rebel shirt, and a Jimmer DVD.  The fun continued at school with 3 dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts for his class.  On Saturday we granted his final birthday request - lunch at Red Robin with Mom and Dad.  That kid is obsessed with the steak fries and Ranch dressing.

So hard to believe that next year Zach turns twelve and receives
the Aaronic Priesthood!!
