However, there is one VERY quiet moment that occurs every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. These are preschool days for Tanner which gives me exactly 165 minutes to myself. This is when I run errands, visit teach, go grocery shopping, doctor appointments, etc. Then around 2:15 is the time I experience the most quiet part of my week - in my car right before my first pickup of the afternoon (I have 3 on preschool days.) I have finished all my running around and that's the time I sit in my eerily silent car, catch my breath, and get ready to face another afternoon/evening of craziness.

Heidi...I laughed out loud when I clicked on your site. YES!!! The car! Why didn't I think of that?!?!?! Sometimes I can't bear to turn on the radio bc I don't want to rob the quiet. I love these photos and I love that you basically hit it on the nose for us moms as to what quiet truly looks like. :)
t
Yes!! I totally get this. The car is the best quiet place there is for a mom. A friend asked me how I managed to read books and do bible study. I told her I'd arrive at school a half hour early and do it in my car. ;)
So, so true! Just the other day I arrived at preschool early and was enjoying the quiet! Great interpretation! :)
HA! Love this! Perfect! I like how you know exactly how many minutes you have - 165. I love the quiet of the car...so so much. Sometimes I actually turn off the radio once I drop my son off at preschool. Love all that quiet. Great interpretation!
love your take...the car is quiet!! i love my time in the car with my ipod and i'm all alone, doesn't happen all that often for me!
Yes...the van was the best place to be alone and have Quiet!! I had forgotten about the van.
The car---YES! I completely understand! I count every single minute I get to myself. :)
I looooooove my time in the car. I totally get this. And I love your photos. Now I want to go take a ride in my car by myself. :-)
This made me chuckle. You look kind of sneaky in the mirror as if you, yourself were trying not to disturb the quiet. It's kind of like the calm before the storm. It never lasts long, but it's just what you need. :)
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one interrupted in the bathroom! LOL
You're right, I do one of two things in the car, enjoy the silence (I forgot how often I leave the radio off now that I have a child)
...or I crank up the radio when I good rock song comes on because I don't get to crank up my stereo much any more with a family.
ah yes...the calm before the storm ;)
wonderful entry this week!
That's what I affectionately call the quiet before the storm. Good times!! Love it!!
I often leave my radio off when I am alone in the car too just for the quiet!
