1. It's after 11pm and all the kids (all 8 of them) are still wide awake and playing. Going back to a school schedule next Tuesday is going to be brutal.
2. I wasn't a fan of Toys R Us before today and I'm REALLY not a fan now. I don't know the source of my indifference towards the store, but today's experience sealed the deal. Went back today to return Mason's piece of junk guitar. Even though he lost the receipt, they could still give us store credit. Great! I was so happy there was no hassle in returning it - Mason was just going to pick out something else.
Here's the deal though - with no receipt, the register scans the store database and finds the lowest price that item has sold at over the last 30 days. Well lucky us, those guitars were half price a few weeks ago. So even though we bought that stinkin' thing only the day before at $24.99, we could only get store credit for $12.50. Talk about LAME!!! Misplacing one little receipt cost us 13 bucks. I was so frustrated. Mason quickly picked out a truck and we left. Even his new toy is poorly made and will probably be broken within a few weeks. I'm done with Toys R Us stores. They will never have my business again.
3. My sister and I took the 8 kids to see the Muppet movie this afternoon. The 10 of us were the only people for the 4:40 showing of Muppets. We had the place to ourselves! It was like the movie Annie when Daddy Warbucks buys out the 8 o'clock show. It was so cool. We were spread out among 3 different rows and the kids could walk around and share the popcorn without worry of disrupting people.
4. Went to my happy place today - The Sweet Tooth Fairy Shop. Just being in that store makes me smile: the retro decor, the pretty colors, and the rows of sugary goodness lined up in the display cases. I tried one of their new flavors - Gingerbread. Yum!! It's a good thing they don't have stores in Vegas.
Andrew flies back up tomorrow...
Hooray!
