1. Took the kids to Toys R Us so they could spend their Christmas money from Grandpa and Grandma. Tanner got a dump truck and Transformer, Zach got an Angry Birds plushy, police car and trading cards, and Mason got a play guitar. Of course with Mason's luck, his guitar turned out to be a piece of junk and it broke soon after opening it so.......back we go tomorrow to return it.
2. After I followed my 4 kids around Toys R Us for about an hour as they looked, I figured it was my turn. I attempted a trip to Rod Works with Taylor and Tanner in tow. Bad idea. Tanner did not approve and started whining the minute we walked in the store. After walking around for four whole minutes, I gave up and left. Sure enough, he fell asleep within seconds of me driving away.
3. Crazy how fast Christmas has disappeared and the Valentines stuff has hit all the stores. It's still December for crying out loud! I'm not ready for conversation hearts and red hots.
4. Talked with my sister and parents tonight about where we'd want to be buried. Is that morbid? My parents already have plots here in Northern Utah that my Grandpa Welling bought them ages ago. I don't really know where I'd want to be buried. Do you? All I know is that I want Amazing Grace on bagpipes played at my funeral. That may sound crazy, but it's something I've always wanted. Once I watched President Hinckley's burial and he had the same thing, I knew I wasn't so crazy after all. If its good enough for our beloved Prophet, it's good enough for me!
5. Trying to finalize my list of resolutions for 2012. Anyone want to share theirs? I don't bother with mundane ones like exercise more, lose weight. I think those are on just about everybody's list. Isn't that a constant in life now?? Instead of resolutions for the new year, I'm actually thinking of making a list of things to AVOID or NOT TO DO during 2012........like:
DO NOT gain any weight
AVOID getting sick the week before Christmas
DO NOT tell yourself that blogging everyday for an entire month is a good idea
AVOID taking the 4 year old on any shopping trips
AVOID Toys R Us
What do you think? I'm pretty confident those are attainable goals :)
