December Daily - Day 15
1. Tonight was Taylor's winter orchestra concert. It was great. I forgot my dang camera again, so this iPhone shot was the best I got. Hard to believe she first started playing the viola only 15 months ago. She's come so far. She's in the Advanced Concert Orchestra this year and was very excited to wear the fancy concert dress instead of the unflattering gray Polo's. They also had to purchase black heels to wear with said dress. We finally found some at Payless. Had to buy Taylor a size 8 1/2. EIGHT AND A HALF!!!!! My feet were only a size 8 when I gave birth to her!!!!! How does my 12 year old have feet almost as big as mine?!?! (Sorry, I'll stop with all the exclamation points now.)
2. Like I mentioned before, someone is delivering something every night for 12 Days of Christmas. We have a pretty good idea who it is, but we'll keep it a secret for now. Yesterday was Turtles and Dove chocolate. Tonight, instead of 3 French hens, we received 3 loaves of homemade french bread. Oh my. It was still warm and soft and delicious! We finished off one whole loaf lickity split. Combine that with the homemade rolls and three other loaves of homemade bread we've received since Sunday, and it's safe to say we have a plethora of bread.
(Would you say I have a plethora of pinatas?? Quick name that movie)
We certainly don't mind it though. We've had lots of toast and sandwiches to help use it up. Grilled cheese sandwiches taste sooooo much better on homemade bread! I wish I knew how to bake like that. Hmm . . . . maybe if Santa brought me a Bosch mixer this year???
3. Yesterday was parent - teacher conferences at the elementary school. Both of my boys are doing very well and we're so lucky they have such fabulous, caring teachers. A few weeks ago, Zach had a writing prompt assignment. They had to write about a special person in their life. It was a nice surprise to read his and find out he wrote about me! It melts my heart when my kids have nice things to say about me. Makes me feel like I'm not such a failure as a mother.
The parts that really gave me a laugh:
She is also as busy as a beaver trying to make things right every day
She is as very handy as homemade robot
I think she should get an award is because she always has dinner ready every day.
If only I was as perfect as I sound in this paper! I could really use one of those homemade robots though. And. . . dinner ready every day? HA!! That is a complete fabrication. Clearly this was a work of fiction :)

That was sweet. Doesn't that kind of appreciation make it all worth it?!?!
8 1/2. That's my shoe size. They grow up too fast.
