With school back in session and not much down time lately, my blogging has suffered and I'm sorry......I will try to update more often.

It's been two weeks now since school started and I'm glad to be back to a normal routine and have some structure in my days. It gets real quiet around here about noon when Tanner goes down for a nap and Mason is playing with cars or watching a cartoon. Those peaceful times come to a screeching halt though once the big kids get home. I swear it's pandelirium around here from 3 until 6 o'clock. Those are the three hours everyday that make me a frazzled mess by 7:00, just about the time Andrew is getting home from work (lucky for him!)
After the first couple of days of school, I was happy to have a little freedom back and sat down and wrote up my to do list - things I neglected to do over the summer or some projects around the house I wanted to tackle. I decided to stop once the list reached 3 pages and realized I have way too much stuff to do!!

I got together with 5 other friends in the ward and we're doing a co-op/preschool group for our 3 year olds this year. I think it will be a great thing for Mason to help him develop his social skills and learn new things. We started last week and this is a picture of him on his first day. Doesn't he look so big standing there with his backpack? (and his mouth full of a granola bar.) He gets so excited about it and always has so much to tell me about when he gets home.

We enjoyed a quick little trip to Utah for Labor Day weekend. We always stay home for Labor Day but this year I thought, why not? Once I told Andrew he should get tickets and go to the BYU game while we were there, he was all for it!! I was excited because it gave me the chance to finally make it to Swiss Days in Midway. For years I've wanted to go but have never been. My sister Cami, her oldest daughter Erika, Taylor and I went Saturday morning. It was nice to be just us girls for a little while. We hit the booths and walked around nonstop for a couple of hours and bought some great stuff. It got old after awhile though when every other booth you saw was selling either little girl hairbows and tutus, or metal rod / magnetic signs to hang in your house - it was a little too much for me. It was hot and super crowded and by early afternoon I had had enough Swiss Days fun.
My brother Troy also drove up with 2 of his boys and it was nice to spend the rest of Saturday and all day Sunday visiting with my family and gorging ourselves on fresh vegetables from my dad's garden. After waking up to a hailstorm Monday morning, we loaded up and headed back to the triple digit heat of Vegas. We did stop in Hurricane to see Abby and Mike and their 10 kids -- we miss not having them in Vegas anymore. It was great to see them and talk for awhile.

Enjoy your week!

I know what you mean from 3-6. I swear it is when everyone calls and wants to talk (Aaron). Homework with 3 kids is crazy. And dinner needs to be fixed. It is the worst time

I don't seem to like those few after school hours either. They make a mess with snacks, homework, shoes kicked off wherever. Swiss Days sounds fun. I know a few others that were going up as well. I know what you mean with the crafts and things- Enough already! There are some cute things out there, but it seems to be the same stuff over and over. I'm not a huge crafty fan anyway. Glad Andrew got to go to his game, hopefully they won.

I was totally kidding about the posts, like I can talk:) But it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who hates 3-6 after school. I know it's polite to invite kids to my house to play, but I send my kids out to see if their friends can play (not always, just a lot lately).

Look how cute Mason is? He will do great in preschool. Alec and I are planning on coming down for Payson blessing. It just depends on if they are doing it before or after general conference. Are you guys still in their ward with the split? It will be fun to see you and your kids again!!

Troy gave us some of the tomatoes. Awesome! Ours were pretty tasty this year but they didn't grow very big. I love gardens.

The 3-6 problem is why I stopped teaching piano lessons. I have enough craziness without inviting other children to be a part of it.

Hey Andrew! I'm so glad you stopped in to say Hi. I love catching up with all my old 23rd ward folks. You have an adorable family. Please say hello to your family for me, and drop by whenever you want.
