The time has finally arrived. The countdown has ended. We take off in the morning for the sunny shores of California. Hopefully we'll make it there with little or no traffic, stops, and car sickness issues. I checked the weather forecast for next week. Around 75 and sunny every day. What a welcome relief that will be! I think our high today in our lovely desert home was 109 degrees - why do we live here again?
Andrew's sister gave me a list of things we'll need to bring with us like umbrellas, beach chairs, a cooler, 2 0r 3 swimsuits per child, lots of beach towels, etc. Who knew you needed so much gear to enjoy a relaxing few days at the beach? I've been shopping like crazy the last 2 weeks - I purposely waited until the end of the season to get the best deals on stuff. I found the chairs and umbrellas at Walmart on clearance which was nice. However, not such good luck on swimsuits for the kids - they were really picked over no matter where I went, but managed to find ones in their sizes. The best deal of all was the beach toys on clearance at Target for 48 cents!!
(This is a view from the condos we are staying at - got it off their website)
I better get back to packing and checking everything off my list.
Have a great weekend everyone!

P.S. We will be only minutes away from Legoland and thinking of taking the kids there one day. Have any of you been there recently? Is it worthwhile?

Legoland is fun, especially for the ages you have. I think you should go. Don't pay full price at the gate. If you can't get tickets on ebay, Costco usually sells them at a discount.
Have a great vacation. I have heard the same about Legoland for the ages of your kids.
Sea World, Zoo, Tijuana, then Legoland...in that order. Look it up. It's true.
OOH! What a view. Hope you are having a great sunny and sandy time!
Hey! It was great to hear from you! I had no idea you were in my siser's ward! You have a beautiful family!
