I thought of this idea a few days ago and realized that today was the 1st of December and I needed to post something. I'm not even sure what to write about or if I should have some type of running theme - so if there are any suggestions from you guys I'd love to hear them! The day is almost over but here I am! I apologize if this first post seems a little scattered.....
I am proud to say that the tree is up, just needing the ornaments. We've never started our Christmas decorating before the 1st of December - feels good to have most of it done and out of the way. I got out all my indoor decorations (which is like 6 things) and put them up on Monday. Tanner helped me with that. I threw some decorations out that were ugly or I didn't want anymore. No use in hanging onto them. Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect wreaths for my front door. I buy fresh pine wreaths every year from Target. They smell amazing!! However they shut down their garden centers so I don't know what I'll do. I might have to break down and buy fake ones (GASP!!!)
We spent Thanksgiving break at Disneyland. It was quite nice and not very crowded. We did a lot of new things this time around:
- Rode the Monorail and Disneyland train
- Ate at 3 new restaurants
- Finally tried a turkey leg
- Rode the Mark Twain steamboat
- 2 new rides - Little Mermaid and Goofy's Sky School
- visited the First Aid station
Poor Tanner didn't want to ride anything but Buzz Lightyear - we had to force him onto every ride. I even had to cover his eyes through the entire ride on Matterhorn - he didn't want to see the monster with the 'red eyes.' Autopia is always a favorite though with our kids. I think we rode that one the most.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at the Carnation Cafe on Main Street. A big plate of turkey and all the fixings. It was so yummy. Everybody ate the turkey dinner except Mason. He opted for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich instead.
All that walking in the parks PLUS the mile distance back and forth to our hotel made me ache. ALOT. My legs and feet were killing me. Andrew's too. At the end of the third day I went to bed with my lower legs and feet covered in Icy Hot bandages....ouch. But pain and bickering kids aside, it was a fun trip and we got our Disneyland fix for another year. I'm thinking next time we should go in like early January or something - I hear it's not crowded at all then.
Well that about wraps up day numero uno. See y'all back here tomorrow!
