Since my last post we've been quite busy. That is my excuse for a lot of things lately, but it's so true. I'm not sure what happened, but since the first of September our family life has become very hectic. Someone made the point that's it's because my kids are getting older and it seems to be true. Their homework has doubled from last year, there are weekly church activities like Scouts and Activity Days, they are both involved in academies at school, plus piano lessons, basketball, etc........and that's just my older 2 kids! There just isn't enough hours in the day but I will attempt to quickly update on what's been going on with us inbetween all the running around.
We celebrated Tanner's 2nd birthday. I can't believe this kid is two years old already. He is such a toe head with his light blond hair but he is a firecracker when it comes to his personality. He is on a path of destruction every waking hour of the day and loves to just come up to you and swat or hit you for no reason. I'm not sure where all this behavior comes from but I hope we outgrow it soon - I don't know how much more damage our house can take!!
Taylor and Zach both performed in the Fall Showcase at school - they are on the jump rope team called the Jivin' Jumpers. It was a great performance and I was so proud of my kids - especially for not tripping on the rope during the show!
After investing alot of time and money, Andrew was successful during his deer hunt 2 weeks ago. I won't even attempt to write about his adventures, but if you're interested maybe he can do his own post about it. The buck was on the small side, but he was happy with the results and it made for a good dinner the next day. Yes, you heard right - we ate venison for dinner. You put it in the crock pot with some soup mix, can of mushroom soup, seasonings and serve it over rice. It's delicious, tender and tastes just like a beef roast. Kids love it too. The rest was made into salami sticks and jerky.
We had a great ward Trunk of Treat this past Saturday night. We look forward to it every year. Homemade chili, scones, and lots and lots and lots of candy.
This is Mason with his best buddy Payson - they were SWAT police officers this year.

Tanner's costume didn't cost me a penny. Just grabbed a hat and hankerchief from the dress up box in the playroom and Voila, we had a train conductor. I'm just surprised he kept it on for most of the evening.
The older kids had the hardest time deciding what they wanted to be for Halloween this year. After changing their minds several times, Zach chose a Recon Commando costume while Taylor went as a colonial girl. Unfortunately this is the only shot I got of all 4 of them together.
That's all for now. Duty calls - I have dinner to make, homework to check, and black marker scribbles to wash off my kitchen table.

Wow, you are busy!! This may sound weird, but my oldest wants to be a colonial girl next year. So, if the costume is available that would be terrific.
I had the exect same costume as Taylor! Although my hair wasn't curled. Love,
Helen
OK, maybe I would like venison if I didn't know... but you SAW the poor little creature dead in the back of the truck!! The kids all looked great for Halloween! Congrats on your new calling... that was actually one of my favorite callings. Don't let sharing time scare you- it's not bad at all!
No, Chandra, that was not the creature, just his remains. That was the cape and the head only. --Andrew
I'm not sure if I like the busy of small children or the busy of older children better. One thing's for sure, we're just plain busy.
