Hello Stranger

Yes, we are still here..........

I have by no means given up blogging, but yikes it's been awhile. I didn't mean to neglect the blog this long, but the last week of May and first week of June was the busiest 2 weeks of my life!! In that short 14 days we had:

A Piano Recital

Two Awards Ceremonies We are so proud of Zach, earning the Principal's Award in his class

And proud of Taylor for her Straight A's!

A Preschool Graduation

Mason earned the Hop To It Award - way to go!

And inbetween all these blessed events we had swim lessons every day, piano lessons, Scouts, Activity Days, end of school year parties, and a much anticipated weekend visit from my parents (which included a baptism and baby blessing.) PHEW!!! It was all wonderful and we are so proud of our kids and their terrific accomplishments this year. (I'm just glad I remembered to bring my camera to every event!)

We made it through it all and another school year is over! We are now in week two of summer vacation and so far so good. Taking four kids with me to run errands is always a pleasure, but lots of bribery is involved!! We challenged our older two to keep up with reading over the summer and have pledged $5 for every 100 pages they read, but they must complete the whole book. It's been great to walk into a room and see Taylor or Zachary quietly sitting and totally engrossed in a book. We checked out a few at the library and they have enjoyed reading some classics like Little House on the Prairie and 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. We might be a little poorer come September but we think it's well worth it!
So that's a little update on us. Now I'm off to put the finishing touches on Zach's Pinewood Derby car. The race is Thursday night. It's our first one and it's been a little stressful putting the car together. We just hope he doesn't come in dead last! I will definitely post all about it!!

Aren't piano recitals the best. I think I get more nervous than my kids.

Your kids will always be grateful.
