I had a very nice Mothers Day.
I woke up and Taylor brought me a note telling me not to come downstairs. Okay, so I went about getting the kids' clothes laid out for church. A little while later, everyone came upstairs with breakfast and presents for me. I sat back in bed and Taylor handed me a tray with juice, yogurt and an omelet. As I started to eat, Andrew told me how Taylor could have killed us all. I guess Taylor woke up early and wanted to cook the breakfast by herself. When she turned on the gas burner the flame didn't ignite so just gas was coming out. Luckily Andrew came downstairs a short time later, smelled the gas and quickly remedied the situation!! He helped her fix another omelet and she is banned from using the stove until further notice! The omelet was delicious though and I shared with everyone.
Next came the homemade gifts - this is by far one of my favorite things about being a parent. I just love the cute little things they make at school and the projects get better the older they get. I have to share some of the funny things the kids wrote:
TAYLOR: Each child in Taylor's class made a magazine. It was the neatest thing and filled with 'articles' about why Mom is the best and Mom's favorite things. Here is what Taylor wrote: "You grew up for me and you had me. And if you didn't grow up and become pregnant, this letter wouldn't be here."
On another page of her magazine, they had to come up with words to describe Mom using each letter of the alphabet. The list started out good - Awesome, Comforting, Elegant. I laughed out loud when I got to the letter G to which Taylor wrote - Gambling is not your thing.
ZACHARY: His classroom project was really sweet. They hand made a whole bunch of red hand prints to look like a bouquet of flowers, along with a dozen reasons why I love my Mom. Here are some of his reasons - because you let me go to school, because you buy me supplies, because you gave me birth, because you bought my backpack.
MASON: In preschool, Mason filled out a little survey about Mom. Some of his answers are priceless!
My favorite thing to do with my mom is the laundry.
If she had extra time, she likes to give me some juice.
When my mom grows up, she wants to be a Heidi.
What my mom loves the most is Zachary and Taylor.
After church and a quiet afternoon, we ended the day visiting Andrew's Mom and I had a great phone call with my own Mom. It was a nice Mother's Day and I'm so grateful for my four little munchkins - no matter how much they make me want to pull my hair out or the countless messes they make, I'm so blessed to be their mother!!

I'm so down for the nanny thing... no joke. I only work monday-thurs so take a weekend off and I'll take over!
Aww! What sweet kidos. I too loved the "What my mom loves most is Zachary and Taylor." It really makes you laugh when you catch a glimpse of what kids are really thinking.
