Stranded

I had big plans today - get the last of the Christmas shopping done for the kids, make it to the grocery store for some essentials, then a quick stop at Costco to pick up a photo order. But no, none of that stuff is going to get done today because I am stranded at home. Why do you ask? No, it's not because my car has broken down, or sick kids, or even the frightful weather we are having in Vegas today (about 40 degrees with a steady rain/snow.) Nope. I'm stranded at home for one simple reason folks -- I don't have my wallet.

Notice that I didn't say that I lost my wallet. Technically it's not lost, because if it was, that would mean I don't know where it is and then the panic would start to set in as I frantically rack my brain trying to remember where I misplaced it, then that would bring back bad memories of losing my wallet at Coronado beach earlier this year.........not this time. I know exactly where my wallet is - Dillards. You see, Andrew and I stopped at the mall after his firm Christmas party Saturday night and did a little shopping. Sunday afternoon I looked in my purse for something and realized it was gone. But right away I knew exactly where I left it and called the store. Sure enough an employee turned it in the night before and they had it locked in their store vault. Phew!! Now most people would just get in the car and run over to the store and pick up their wallet. However this is the Dillards in the Galleria mall on the complete opposite side of town. Lucky for me its down the street from Andrew's office so he's going to pick it up for me today.

So with no drivers license or debit card I'm stuck at home. It's funny how a couple of little plastic cards can completely paralyze you from going anywhere. I think it worked out okay though - being out in this weather with 2 little boys wouldn't have been much fun anyway. So I will just stay bundled up in Andrew's sweatshirt, attack my laundry pile head on and have a cup of hot chocolate. The shopping will have to wait until tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will improve by then too.

I wear Kevin's sweatshirts too. I am glad your wallet didn't get stolen though. You're better than I am. I used the weather as my excuse not to run errands, and I didn't even bother doing something like the laundry to make up for it either. I'm glad you'll have your wallet back soon.

I LOVE wearing Michael's sweatshirts!

But anyway... I am so glad that you know where your wallet is! It is funny how those two little cards make so much of a difference! But at least you got some laundry done@ (Mine is still staring me down everytime I walk by...)

I refuse to go to any more stores until after Christmas. I wish my wallet would get lost so I could just stay home.I think it would be nice:) Glad you know where it is though!:)

Few things are worse than losing a wallet/purse. Glad you found it.

I was stranded at home too. I didn't want to go out in the rain. I had all the same shopping to do. Maybe I will see you out and about today!!

This is the worst time of year to not have your wallet. And I am sure if you would have had it you might not need to go to the store quite as bad as when you know u need it.

You are funny. I wasn't about to go out in the weather either. They get crazy when there is any weather in Las Vegas. They also get crazy at the stores. I'm not messing with that one until after the holidays.

Quick laugh at Andrew's comment... At least you remembered where you left it and you're getting it back(hopefully) in one piece.I stayed home yesterday too. Just too miserable to try and fight the rain/snow.

Hope you got your wallet back and were able to get your errands done yesterday. It's crazy out there tonight- according to the ongoing 4 hour newscast. It's just snow.

Bet Andrew's sweatshirt smells better now that you're wearing it. LV is like Texas - freezing weather paralyzes people here. Enjoy the laundry.

I guess I'm bad - I would have just driven out there with no license! I'm not brave - just stupid. :)
