Our adventure began on the Friday we left for St. George. Mason had thrown up that morning, which was totally random because he was acting fine and had no fever. Like I mentioned in my previous two posts, Mason threw up again on our trip and Tanner threw up the night we got back - we were on a roll! What I thought was the end turned out to only be the beginning. Zach continued the fun Monday night, throwing up while laying in the top bunk bed (my personal favorite) and so on and so forth until our last episode with Tanner this past Friday night. For those of you keeping score, that is EIGHT STRAIGHT DAYS of vomiting kids. It became downright comical for me. Some were repeat offenders, with Wednesday being the peak day with all three boys and 6 different 'episodes.' Taylor wins for most considerate vomiter, only doing it once and kindly making it to the bathroom in time. That's my girl! Our steam carpet cleaner was in full force and the washing machine was running around the clock.
I have no idea what horrible bug made them so sick. I took them all to get flu shots the day this all started and some have told me it could have been the side effects from the vaccine, so who knows. I used to pride myself on the fact that my kids were pretty healthy and rarely got seriously ill, especially throwing up. With them getting so sick twice within a few short weeks I was starting to ask myself if there was something I'm supposed to be learning from all of this. I'm still not entirely sure, but maybe this trial was teaching me to try and focus more on the important things like my children and their well being. Perhaps it's simply to have more patience or not to take even the little things for granted. But here's what I do know:
- Buying a Bissell Steam Cleaner is the best money I ever spent at Costco. If I could I would be like Oprah and buy one for all of my friends and family members
- I need some new towels
- Vomiting kids used to REALLY bother me - not anymore
Most importantly, I'm eternally grateful for the healing power of the Priesthood.

Ugh. I am glad it finally passed, but I'm so sorry that it took so long for them to get better.
That will be one of the first things we buy when we leave Philly. There is nowhere ti store it here. Hope all goes better for you.
Carrie
You are lucky-because the rest of us will be vomiting at the holidays, and you are all done with it.
Tell Tanner to lay off the Halloween candy:) I'm so sorry for you dealing with all that vomit. At least you had a mini vacation.
I'm so glad your family is over that yuck. Now the rest of your fall and winter should be a breeze!
