Who Says you Can't Learn Anything from Television?

So funny what happened yesterday........

Mason was playing with his cars on the kitchen floor. He was counting them out loud with daddy; one, two, three, etc. Andrew said, "Now let's count them in Spanish!" So Andrew started by saying, "uno" and then without missing a beat, Mason said, "dos!" I instantly looked at Andrew and our mouths dropped. We couldn't believe what he just said! All of us broke into hysterical laughter. I felt like such a proud mom....all those endless episodes of Go Diego Go aren't rotting his brain-------he's becoming bilingual!

We tried to get Mason to repeat it, but he started to get embarrassed at the attention and stopped. I tried and said, "uno....dos..." and then Mason said, "three."

What a priceless moment.

Isn't it the little things like that that take away some of the guilt of our children watching the DREADED TV? I know that there is so much surrounding the negative consequences of children watching TV but I happen to think that there are a lot of benefits as well. I think if our kids watch certain shows there are good things to be learned.
