Sometimes I don't know where my kids come from---let me share this funny little story from last week...
A little background first: After we returned from our long Utah trip, my dear mother in law came over for a few hours to help me catch up on laundry, etc. She enlisted Taylor and Zachary as her helpers. My MIL was impressed with their cleaning skills and suggested they come over to her house sometime and help her clean. Well, that's all it took for Zachary---he asked for several days in a row if they could go to grandma's house to clean. So I let him call Gma Dixon and set up a day. He hung up the phone and this was our conversation:
"Mom, we need to go over and help Grandma and Grandpa Dixon.
"Why Zach?"
"Well, because they are nice and buy us presents and stuff, and they are kinda old and I don't want them to break their backs so we need to help them clean. I just want to help!"
I laughed so hard--what a character!! So the next day I took them over and they helped Gma & Gpa Dixon wipe down the kitchen cabinets, vacuum, dust, clean the bathroom floor and bake a batch of cookies! They were very proud of their work, not to mention happy to earn $3 each! I guess they were still in a cleaning mood the next day because Taylor and Zackie actually asked me if they could vacuum, mop the floor and wash the dishes!! (Even Mason wanted to join in the fun, so I gave him a feather duster and it was hilarious watching him dust!)
Of course kids being kids, they quickly grew tired of cleaning and went right back to goofing around. Their favorite thing seems to be wrestling each other on the ground (until someone gets hurt!!)
I'm starting to wonder how Taylor is going to survive with (soon to be) 3 little brothers!!
