Sharing Time

No, this isn't a post about something that happened with my kids in Primary. This is a post I've been meaning to do for awhile now. We've all discovered something new from time to time and want to tell people about it.

So here are some favorite things, places, foods, websites, etc. that I have discovered recently--- Some I found because someone else told me about them. I'm famous for being the last to know everything, so if you already know about this stuff, just humor me!!

Two websites I love:

The first one is The Pioneer Woman Cooks. This is a fun website of simple, easy recipes and the lady is pretty funny too. She includes amazing pictures and takes you thru each step of the recipe.

Another great website is Becky Higgins. Her name is familiar with anyone that scrapbooks. I like to read her blog which talks alot about scrapbooking, but she also shares other things like decor and organizing tips. She has a recipe section that is worth checking out too. I personally tried the recipes for Chicken Pillows and Chicken Noodle Casserole --- both were delish and big hits with my whole family.

Anyone had these? Skinny Cow Fudge Bars. I've seen these all over and finally tried them last week as part of my healthier lifestyle. I was surprised how yummy they were! I'm not a big ice cream person, but these hit the spot when I'm craving something sweet. I'm anxious to try their other varieties.

We found a new pizza place ---Red Brick Pizza. It's really good. I'm a big fan of their chopped green salad. I know they have locations in California, Arizona, Texas, and a few other states out west.

Another restaurant worth checking out is Carinos. I've seen these in California before and they just opened one here by us. We went there for Andrew's birthday 2 weeks ago and I was impressed how quickly we were seated. I have a feeling it will become a popular spot since we don't have many restaurants in this part of town.

Have you guys heard of this grocery store? I noticed them building 2 around here and I've been meaning to go for weeks now. Well I finally went last Friday and loved it. First of all, they have parking up front reserved just for adults shopping with children. I was warmly greeted and handed a cart upon entering the doors. Now these stores are small and don't carry everything (they didn't have the formula I needed) but that was okay. Their produce was really fresh. They had a little cooking demo area where you can sample things. I picked a good day to go; they were offering these HUGE strawberries dipped in chocolate - I couldn't resist. I didn't think the prices were that bad either. I discovered they only had self checkout, which might be a turnoff for some people. However, a nice employee offered to bag my stuff for me. They also helped another woman with an infant scan her groceries. Maybe take a baby with you and you'll get better service!

On the flipside, there is something else we tried that we didn't like at all. If you see these, don't waste your money. It's called A&W Floats. I came across them at Target and bought them for Andrew because he really likes rootbeer floats. They weren't very tasty at all and we discovered they were full of sugar. I took one sip and thought they were terrible!! Their website claims: "We've bottled the flavor of an ice cream float without the hassle of preparing one.....take a sip, you'll get a little taste of heaven." Oh brother!!! What advertising genius wrote that? Trust me, we felt nowhere near heaven when drinking it and you'd be much better off going thru the 'hassle' of making your own.

So that's all that I wanted to share with ya. If you've tried any of these things I'd love to hear your opinion on them!

I took your sublte hint. Here is my comment. You need to get out more! You live in Vegas for crying out loud! You've got to have friends who can "hook you up". Of course, I still only have three kids and we can go out. So maybe four will change that. But the websites, I will check out. Thanks for stalking me! PS - I found a friend of mine from Cedar by blog hopping from your blog to Stevens to his friend Chad Marchant to his brother Adam. Adam and Chad lived down the street from my grandma and around the corner from my cousin (who incidently is the real stalker that found the connection.) Small cyberworld.
