Utah Trip Part Two

So the last day of our trip was definitely the most dramatic. In the morning was the parade, one of the main reasons we went up there. You're probably thinking, what's the big deal with a parade, anyway? But to the kids it was a big deal to ride in a trailer with their cousins and throw candy (My dad does it every year, but we've missed it every time.) I was all ready to go with my camera to take tons of pictures of the kids--the parade started and I tried to take a picture and the screen said "Charge the battery"---Ugh!!! So frustrating--you'd think I'd check the camera the night before! I did manage to take a few shots before they left the house, but now I don't have any photos from the actual parade. Luckily my brother had his camera, but I'll have to wait until he emails them to me.

After the parade we went to the park for food, rides, and booths. This is where we lost our first tooth--Zach's had one front tooth loose for days but wouldn't let us touch it. Well, at the park it started bleeding, so Andrew grabbed a napkin and yanked it out. I put it in my pocket but when we got home I checked my pocket and it was gone, so this is where mommy lost a tooth! I felt so bad and Zach started to cry--he thought that meant no money from the tooth fairy. I promised him I would write a letter of apology to the tooth fairy that it was my fault the tooth was gone and he agreed. Later on that afternoon, Taylor finally wiggled out her loose tooth, so this time I made sure it was put in a plastic bag for safe keeping! Now Zach has a cute little toothless grin!!

And what is a vacation without a trip to the emergency room!! That night Mason and his 3 year old cousin Mattie were together in the basement playroom. My sister went downstairs to check on them and came back up carrying Mason, who had blood all over his hands and face. He wasn't crying at all and at first I thought, "Oh no, he's gotten into red markers!! It wasn't until we looked closer to see a small gash by his right eye. According to Matti, Mason fell and landed on a piece of a train set. So off we went to the ER, where he got 4 stitches. Poor little guy!! A strange occurrence at the hospital though. There were not one but two other little boys there with cuts by their right eyes and their moms were pregnant as well! Very freaky!!! The nurse checking us in looked around and said, "Are we running a special tonight on eye lacerations?" We're hoping he's not left with a noticeable scar!

Well, that about sums up our time in Utah--it's sad to think that this was probably our last trip up there for the rest of the year :(

ONLY in Utah could you have 3 pregnant mommies and 3 little boys with eye cuts! So funny! Hope he's okay!

I have to admit, I am glad that you didn't actually loose your own tooth! Sigh! So cute for both of your kids to get toothfairy money!

That was some vacation!

So the lost tooth wasn't quite as exciting as I thought. I was really looking forward to a toothless grin on you! I know what you mean about parades. I love our good old small town parade nothing compares. I also know what you mean about the last trip to Utah. Kinda sad, but are you as glad as I am that school is about to start?

Hey I didn't know you were pregnant! Congratulations! I am just sitting down to get caught up on your blog and maybe there is a post previously about being pregnant that I haven't gotten to yet but that is exciting!
