Here's what I had going on this past week:
shopping for school supplies and school lunches
Meet and Greet night(mare) at school (you who were there can relate!)
diabetic checkup appt for Zach
Visiting teaching
meeting with school nurse about Zach and filling out forms
Taylor attending another birthday party
overnight guests on short notice (my sister and her 4 kids from Utah on their way to Disneyland)
trying to clean whole house for said visitors (with absolutely no energy)
hair appointment
Now normally I'd be okay with a week like that, but it seemed everything kept piling up and when I found out about our overnight guests I went into major panic mode. Don't get me wrong, we were excited they were coming, but you must understand that I really stress out over cleaning for guests. They always say "don't worry about it" but I feel like it's a bad reflection on me. It's dumb to think that way but I can't help it. Needless to say, when my sister showed up late Wednesday night, I was still putting sheets on the bed and didn't finish half the stuff I needed to. (Sorry Cami!) But at least the toilets were clean!
We did enjoy what little time we had with my sister and her kids while they were here and my kids desperately wanted to follow their cousins to Disneyland. If school wasn't starting and I wasn't so pregnant I probably would have considered it!
Our tense week turned out okay once the weekend rolled around and we were able to have a little fun. On Friday night we hung out with friends and played games (thanks Normans!) Saturday afternoon Andrew took the kids up to Mt. Charleston for a little exploration and a break from the heat. He took some great pictures---it's hard to believe such a beautiful place is only 30 minutes away from this hot ugly desert we live in!
I can't believe tomorrow is the first day of school--the backpacks are ready to go, the outfits are laid out, and the kids went to bed before 9:00 for the first time since June. They are definitely ready, but I'm not!! More about that tomorrow....

What a week! I totally get the clean house thing! Hope the first day of school goes smoothly! Hey - when are you due and do you know what you are having?
What? you weren't ready for this morning? you crazy lady
I can relate with not having the house clean. I am going crazy knowing that school has started and I haven't been able to go through the kids closet. By the way I need to come visiting teaching.
So I've been checking your blog regularly the past month or so when I check Caseys and Alyssa's but I've never left a comment. It kind of makes me feel like a peeping Tom when I find out all about you without you even knowing it. So I'm letting you know it. I really enjoy hearing all these details. Oh.. And I have Twilight (that book we keep talking about) if you want to borrow it.
It's good to know you're "lurking" on our blog Jenny! Just kidding--that's what blogs are for! And I will borrow that book from you---I always hate starting books though because I want to finish them in one sitting, and knowing that there's 3 of them!! Ugh! But I will give it a try.
heidi, borrow the books from Jenny! You now only have one baby at home- read while you have time! I'm one who has to finish the book before I go to bed also- but you'll enjoy the lack of sleep?!
Cute pictures!
